The National Children and Youth Programming Contest is completed in district-level. A total of 5400 Participants from 64 districts sat for district-level contest, 2700 participants in scratch programming and 2700 in python.
Scratch is a visual programming language targeted primarily at children where they can make their own interactive stories, games and animations and share with online community.
Python is a general-purpose interpreted, interactive, object-oriented, and high-level programming language.
Children for Scratch programming were divided in teams of 3-member, Python is an individual and online contest using Codemarshal competition platform. The District-level contest held in 180 Sheikh Russell Digital Lab premises.
Winning teams from district-level Scratch and Python programming contest of 2nd and 3rd June will be invited to participate in the national campaign and the ultimate round of the contest.
An intensive training event has been carried from 12th May to 30th May for 5400 students of 64 districts in Sheikh Russel Digital Labs, followed by a Training of Trainers (TOT) program on 16th and 17th April 2018 at Krishibid Institute for 360 ICT Teachers and Lab Coordinators of Sheikh Russell Digital Labs.
Leading youth platform Young Bangla and Bangladesh Computer Council are jointly organizing the contest to motivate children in programming.
