Joy Bangla Concert 2019: The largest music extravaganza celebrating the speech that created a nation
The countdown begins for March 7th, the long-awaited youth-centric concert of the year, “Joy Bangla Concert”. March is a remarkable month for the historic speech that set the tone for the liberation war of Bangladesh. Young Bangla, the largest youth platform of the nation has been organizing the Joy Bangla Concert every year since 2015, this is the time for 5th round of call for the music lovers.
Young Bangla organized a two-day long ‘Way Forward Network Meeting’ at Santoor Restauraunt at Dhaka on 5thand 6thFebruary 2019 with the Joy Bangla Youth Award winner of 2019.
The much coveted Joy Bangla Youth Award 2018 hosted by Young Bangla (YB) went to 30 youth-led organizations this time. These organizations were selected from a list of 50 nominated organizations under 10 categories, including skill development, inclusive education, empowerment of differently-abled people, cultural activism, innovation, sports and fitness, creating public awareness, reducing gender discrimination, environment and climate change, and community development. Sajeeb Wazed, ICT Adviser to the PM of Bangladesh and Chairperson of Centre for Research and Information (CRI), an inspiration to the current youth, handed over the awards at a grand ceremony.
Almost two hundred youthful souls have come together in the bootcamp at Sheikh Hasina National Youth Development Institute. They experienced a day full of interactive sessions where they mingled and shared experience and learnt from each other.
