Starting November 2014, Young Bangla has established itself as one of the largest youth networks in Bangladesh. Bridging enterprising youth with public and private sector initiatives, Young Bangla has ushered in a new era in in youth development. In less than three years, it has strung together a large number of young achievers, leaders, and youth-led organizations from all corners of Bangladesh who have been working relentlessly to change the fate of their communities. Their impressive and inspiring stories are recounted across the network.

What sets Young Bangla apart is the spread of its frontier from the very urban to the rural. Young Bangla extended reach to the district level by organizing local-level networking programs and activities. At the initial stage, focus group discussions were conducted at divisional cities throughout 2015. To strengthen the network nationwide by engaging with the public and private sectors, Young Bangla organized a series of network meetings with future partners. The meetings were attended by the winners of Joy Bangla Youth Award (JBYA) 2015, interns of the Vision 2021 Internship Program, general members and representatives of public and private sector partners. JBYA winners and other network members meet on regular basis and have already drafted a plan to launch several projects.

Engagement through offline and online activities is at the core. Young Bangla now proudly hosts a network of 30,000 active members, 15,000 enlisted volunteers, nearly 350 organizations and a whopping 270,000 Facebook followers.

Young Bangla has successfully linked up with a number of ministries, government offices, departments and several private corporate bodies. They now support the initiatives of the members, who themselves have established connections with local administration thus accessing and availing opportunities.

The network facilitates meaningful interaction between the youth from different parts of the country, promoting mutual learning and experience sharing. It has also brought young achievers together in a platform that helps them to solve problems and bring about organizational and individual changes.

“We are connected to thousands of youth. Now we are able to showcase our works all to the youth across the country. We can solve our organizational problems by helping each other.” – Hasan Munawar, founder, With Living Legends

Young Bangla continuously guide individual idea/effort to transform into more formal organizational initiatives. The network, invigorated by new ideas and blood, will continue to show ways to thousands of young men and women.
