Bangladesh has taken a quantum leap in its march to transform the future into a Digital one under vision 2021. To this end, the Centre for Research and Information and its youth led platform Young Bangla has rolled out a comprehensive initiative titled “Microsoft Service Engineer Development”. The scheme, the first of its kind in the country, aims at reaching out the youths at grass-root level and creating a skilled workforce around the country. Experts from Microsoft will provide those young minds with soft skill training, enhance their knowledge and make them competitive for the world.
As part of that initiative started on March 24, a workshop was held at the Moulavibazar Government College and Sylhet DC office auditorium respectively on April 22 and 23. The events drew a spontaneous participation from a diversified youth group, numbered around 120, comprising college goers, university students and young professionals. Phoenix Bangladesh Foundation, a partner of Microsoft, ran the training session along with Microsoft trainers.
The workshop shed light on basic computing skills, along with the necessary operating skills while lessons were given as regards solution to some less know but frequently appeared problems. Impressed by the outcome of the event, all the participants opined that similar programmes need to be arranged on regular intervals. They also unanimously admitted that this event helped them develop a deeper interest in enhancing ICT based skills while the lessons have excelled their level of understanding in ICT.
All the attendees were awarded certificates endorsed by Microsoft Bangladesh.
