Two Young Bangla representatives recently attended a meeting at Kormoshopan Pataton Career Camp of ‘Shikka 2 Employment’ Program (S2EP) arranged by Advancing Policy Interest Trust (APIT) in Khulna which was held from 25-31 September 2016. The career camp was focused to enhance some necessary skills of fresh entrants to be a competent candidate for the job market. This program also helped to unite all the existing Young Bangla members and the Kormoshopan Pataton career camp participants of Khulna division to achieve the motto of Young Bangla, ‘Connecting the dots’. About 100 new members added in Young Bangla platform through this event. At the end of the event, Honorable Member of Parliament, Mizanur Rahman Mizan (Khulna-2), Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Ahsan handed over the certificate to the participants.
The objectives of this meeting included familiarize Young Bangla platform among local youths as well as among local government officials to strengthening Young Bangla network and more importantly to create a bridge between local youth and local administration.
Apart from that, an intensive discussion was conducted with the active participants of the camp and Young Bangla members from Khulna and adjacent cities to promote Young Bangla and to facilitate their activities in their locality. 25 active members from 6 districts (Jessore, Shatkhira, Gopalgonj, Bagerhat, Khulna and Magura) were assigned as a team upon an intensive discussion round, who will be working for mobilizing youth in their respective areas. Issues such as history of liberation war, religious fanaticism, inter-racial harmony, drug, early marriage, sports, and lack of recreation came to the discussion round.
A separate meeting was held with Local MP and DC regarding CRI & Young Bangla to introduce CRI activities and Young Bangla Awardees and members of Khulna Division to the local administration. This meeting resulted to organize the grass root events more at the divisional level in the coming days.
This Young Bangla network meeting at Khulna was a demand of the time. Constant issues from our surroundings were addressed alongside the networking of Young Bangla. Event concluded with the promise of arranging more events to linkage the initiative of youth and policy maker and the other way around.
