Young Bangla has officially begun its journey toward this year’s Joy Bangla Youth Award, organizing its Divisional Meets nationwide. The 2nd divisional meet was in Rajshahi city at the Postal Academy conference hall.
A total of 40 participants comprising of Young Bangla members, past the winners of the Joy Bangla Youth Award 2015 and other interested youths from all over the division gathered at the Rajshahi Divisional Meet.
The program was organized to share the plans for the award, the selection criterias and the importance of their roles in the upcoming events before the Joy Bangla Youth Awards – one of the biggest events of Young Bangla. The participants shared their experiences working in their relative fields, while the previous awardees talked about their journey towards winning their awards and how their life has changed since. This was followed by detailed discussions the procedures to follow, specific activity plans and the registrations process. This year, the Joy Bangla Youth Award has been divided into three broad categories, which are: (1) Community Development, (2) Cultural Activities, and (3) Sports Development. Under Community Development, there are several sub-categories such as violence against women, disaster response, vulnerable communities, youth training and education, etc.
The participant later engaged in group activities and presented their collective ideas and suggestions regarding the plans for the upcoming events. They left enthusiastic about the Awards and are now looking forward to their playing active roles in the Young Bangla events ahead.
