Joy Bangla Concert: Grooving into the historic anthem of March 7

7th March’s ‘Joy Bangla Concert’ became an integral part of the celebration of the historic speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Centre for Research and Information’s youth led platform Young Bangla is once again going to organize the Joy Bangla Concert for the sixth consecutive year. The concert ticket is absolutely free for all, which is available upon a click online at Young Bangla’s social media page and in the website: https://ticket.youngbangla.org/. Focusing on Mujib Borsho-2020 (birth centenary celebration of the father of the nation) this year’s Joy Bangla Concert is going to project a special segment ‘Holographic Presentation of Bangabandhu. There will also be some special presentations into a deliverable tune to the youth.

In spite of winning the absolute majority at the National Assembly Election of Pakistan in 1970 West Pakistani leaders started their conspiracy to resist the elected Awami League from gaining their rightful governing powers. In such a crisis-filled context that Bangabandhu delivered his historic speech at the Racecourse Maydan on March 7. Disregarding the intimidation and threats of the Pakistani Army’s tanks, guns, and machineguns, and in the presence of a million audiences, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared in a booming voice: “This time, the struggle is for our liberation, this time the struggle is for our independence”. On 30 October 2017, the Speech has been included in the “Memory of the World International Register”, a list of World’s important documentary heritage maintained by UNESCO.

Every year on the same day of March Young Bangla presents the biggest musical extravaganza of Bangladesh which has become a ritual for the rock music lovers to attend the event. Since its inception almost all the famous rock band of Bangladesh performed in the Joy Bangla Concert. Young Bangla extracts the best performances to showcase the ethos of the dynamic speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Laser show, stage drama and relevant content on 7th March Speech are being shared among the youth to re-energize the spirit of the liberation war of Bangladesh.

This year’s performers are F- Minor, Minar, Avoid Rafa, Shunno, Vikings, Fuad & Friends, Lalon, Arbovirus, Chirkut, Cryptic Fate and Nemesis. Apart from the leading mainstream bands 2020’s Joy Bangla Concert’s opening performances will be let by promising youth bands selected from University auditions – Introit, Arekta Rock Band, ADVERB, S!N and Conclusion. This year’s one of the latest lineup is all female band F Minor. Minar will play a solo performance which is going to attract the Minar track lovers. Each band will perform six songs while recreating one patriotic song of ‘Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra’.

Apart from the musical presentations there will be stall for merchandise and range of cuisine for different tastes in food court. The concert will be telecast live on Young Bangla’s social media page and in different media.
