Fourth “Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020” giving ceremony

Since the inception of the Young Bangla Platform, Joy Bangla Youth Award (JBYA) is one of the flagship programs with a vision to recognize and connect young change-makers. There were three seasons so far held in 2015, 2017 and 2018, including the First Joy Bangla Youth Award in 2015. This year Young Bangla is hosting Fourth Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020 to celebrate young change-makers contributions through recognizing young volunteers, achievers, and leaders from across the country, those who echoe the sprite of the emergence of Bangladesh.

The virtual award-giving ceremony of the Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020 (JBYA2020) is going to be held on November 17, 2020, which is a flagship program of Young Bangla to recognize and connect the youth champions of social transformation and community development, across the country. The top 30 youth-led organizations’ names will be declared on November 17, 2020, by Sajeeb Wajed, ICT Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Online registration of the Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020 began on September 25, 2020; which continued till October 15, 2020. Over 600 youth organizations committed and volunteered to bring positive change in society have applied for the ‘Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020’ under two broad areas – Social Inclusion and Integrated Community Development. Later, Young Bangla team primarily shortlisted 103 applications and conducted another round of evaluation process to finalize the top 50 organizations through various levels of scrutiny and interviews. Young Bangla also formed a jury board to conduct the final evaluation, who recommend the top 30 organizations out of 50 for the Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020. Distinguished Jury Board Members were:

 Ms Farzanah Chowdhury, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Green Delta Insurance Company Limited (GDIC)
 Rajeeb Samdani, Co-Founder and Trustee of Samdani Art Foundation
 Sharmin Sultana Sumi, Lead Vocalist, Chirkutt Band
 Nahim Razzaq MP, Convener of Young Bangla

Apart from recognition and award, the JBYA2020 winners will receive assistance from Young Bangla, through a mentorship program, in terms of capacity development, networking and exposure in different online and offline media.
