Joy Bangla Youth Award is All Set on Dec 20, 2021

The long wait of two months is almost over. Young Bangla, the largest national platform for Bangladeshi youth, is all set to host the most awaited Joy Bangla Youth Award (JBYA) 2021 on 20 December 2021 at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Youth Development, Savar. This is the fifth edition of the prestigious award after the previous four editions of 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020. 

JBYA, a flagship program of Young Bangla, recognizes young change-makers from different corners of the country who are working for their communities and the nation as a whole. Young Bangla will recognize 15 such promising youth-led organizations who will be awarded on the event date. 

This year, Young Bangla will present “Pathfinder”, a pecial Recognition to individuals who have made significant contributions to the post-independence nation-building process through their leadership, service, initiatives, and research.

All 30 nominees will assemble at the venue from noon of 19 December. They will socialize with the Young Bangla secretariat during an orientation session followed by the screening of the film “Hasina: A Daughter’s Tale”. 

On the morning of 20 December, the selected nominees of JBYA 2021 will meet and greet with 100 previous awardees where they will share their success stories, barriers, challenges and ways to overcome them. The session will be moderated by Israt Farzana Tanni and Habibur Rahman from Young Bangla. 

The award giving ceremony is going to kick off from 3.00 pm on 20 December. Fifteen organizations will receive crest and certificate from the Trustee of Centre for Research and Information (CRI). Soon after, the awardees will have a chance to share their reactions and stories. Finally, the main event will be capped up by a musical session in the evening.

During the two-month long process of JBYA 2021, Young Bangla received around 750 applications by youth-led organizations from different parts of the nation. A jury board consisting of 12 eminent personalities picked the top 15 winners in 5 categories on the basis of their quality of work, potential to impact the society and nation, etc. 

The winners will be a part of an amazing platform and network comprising a large stakeholders including policymakers, media personalities, private sector representatives and many more.
