Young Bangla is offering its third cohort of internship programs at the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MoPEMR). It is the first ever hands on working experience at the government ministry in Bangladesh. Young Bangla’s internship ‘Youth Employability Programme_YEP!’ provides opportunities to work in the government and private sector. Apart from engaging more than 1300 youth in public sector internships, it has created a scope of collaboration in the private sector and provided self-employment support to the aspirant youth. 104 interns completed this internship in the first batch started in 2016-2017 another 165 youth were entitled to this internship in the second phase in 2017-2018.
An intern will get the scope of working for three months in different utilities under the Power and Energy division of the MoPEMR. However, a practice of the extension of work tenure has been seen previously on according to the requirement of the attached workstation. This internship is unique in many other ways as it is providing scope of learning how the government machinery works as well as gives them access to minimum financial solvency as it is a paid internship. An applicant is expected to be ready to travel into any location in Bangladesh that is the workstation of any utilities.
A fresh university graduate from Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering-IPE will get preference in selection phase also a limited number of candidates will get opportunity from other relevant discipline.
‘Call for application’ is open now and will be available till 17th April 2022. Interested candidates can access the internship opening form from Young Bangla’s verified social media page. A form to be submitted to the link https://forms.gle/AhpjyPVYsc17QfoVA with an attachment of resume during the application process. All the applications will be scrutinized by a selection committee and the actual offer will be sent to the selected candidates subject to the availability of slots, consent of the concerned Division and approval of the competent Authority.
Before the placement an intern will receive a grooming session on job description, etiquettes-norms and other terms and regulations. A certificate will be issued to the interns on satisfactory completion of their internship and on submission of their report/paper and its evaluation by the concerned utility head.
