Bindu-Nari Unnayan Sangathan is working in Satkhira district— one of the most disaster-prone areas of Bangladesh. Established in 2018, the organization works in the area of preventing violence against women, dowry, sexual harassment, and child rights of the marginalized community. They work to protect the rights of natural disaster-affected people in coastal areas, especially women. Bindu-Nari Unnayan Sagathan’s signature contribution to the community is, it has created 18 women leaders in an underprivileged community to lead disaster management endeavors at the union level. With strong leadership, they sensitized the local government to repair a 300-meter embankment that was destroyed by a cyclone. They also work to prevent violence against women, dowry, sexual harassment, and protect child rights in collaboration with local administration and other youth-led organizations.
