Ignite Youth Foundation is an organization that spread its wings to the most needed sectors of development in Bangladesh. Formed in 2016, it works with children and special needs children’s education, youth and women empowerment, health and hygiene, and gender and social equality. Ignite Youth Foundation (IYF) works with the slogan- “Know them, save them, make them”. The organization has about twenty-three thousand volunteers, four hundred and eighty-five university ambassadors and a team of sixty-eight active members all over the nation. Besides, two hundred international volunteers also support this organization. Among many of its projects, ‘Shabolombi’, ‘Niramoy’, ‘Craftnight’, ‘Ignite Blood Bank’, ‘Nirman’, and ‘Prerona’ are the highlights. Project Shabolombi creates employability and skills in poor and low-income communities by creating earning opportunities such as donating rickshaws, vans, sewing machines, and farming equipment as well as handicrafts training. So far it has reached thirty-five families. Niramoy provides free healthcare support and medicines to slum and street children and organizes health camps.
Craft night focuses on creating employability and empowerment in young and adult women through handicrafts training and job placements. Its beneficiary has reached one hundred. The Ignite Blood Bank has donated two thousand bags of blood at emergency calls. Besides, its Save Bangladesh project also worked as covid response team that provided free medical service online and distributed food and medical relief to more than a thousand beneficiaries. Project Nirman ensures safe housing and reintegration of natural disaster affected families. The organization also responds to the need for healthy menstrual experiences in the marginalized community, as they provide free reusable sanitary napkins and health guidelines. Mohammad Jahirul Islam, the founder of Ignite Youth Foundation wants to create a workforce that will reduce poverty and bring economic stability to every household.
