One of the founders, Sajid-bin-Zahid, has introduced the organization – “Jibon” to Young Bangla.
“Jibon” was established in 2011 with only 8 members in the beginning and today it is a huge family of 300 volunteered volunteers. Mostly known as the first online blood bank in Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT), “Jibon” was able to create a social movement to encourage voluntary blood donation in both Bengali and hilly communities.
Today the organization is another name of faith among the people of CHT. Thousands of critical patients who need blood, call the 24/7 dedicated call center of Jibon. The organization arranges a campus activation program “Hello Campus” in different colleges and universities of CHT to highlight the importance of blood donation among students and to understand the necessities. They have a “Medical Cell” for their blood donation projects. Besides, “Hello team” provides students with various professional and work-oriented training.
The organization has been operating its work by utilizing social media resources for the past seven years. They create a connection between the blood donor and the patient. In addition, Jibon is conducting a variety of social services. They arrange a variety of service for the senior citizens, provide shelter and relief for the victims of natural disasters and motivate the youth of their community. Wearing green T-shirts, the volunteers of Jibon introduce themselves as the green army of CHT.
The people of this town have been enlightened by Jibon’s green army about Digital Bangladesh. Jibon is working to increase efficiency through their “Skill Development Cell” in CHT.
In 2018 Jibon has won Joy Bangla Youth Award for their remarkable contribution in the development of CHT communities. Jibon dreams to expand their work all over the country.
