Miserable Welfare Association is a social organization that has been supporting the ‘Bede’ (gypsy) community in the Sylhet region since 2017. The organization runs a school to provide elementary education to a number of children belonging to that community. It also arranges livelihood training for adults and provides health services on a regular basis to improve the overall community lifestyle. With education and skill development training it wants to work on behalf of this marginalized community and merge them into social inclusion. Among various projects ‘Shobuj Bidyabari’, and ‘Usha Prokolpo’ outshine as it drives the education and employability rates in this community. It has other projects including health workshops, blood donation, emergency climate response, relief programs, tree plantation, etc. Its target is to achieve three of the Sustainable Development Goals: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, and Quality Education. This project-centric organization plans to contribute to including the marginalized community under these goals and ensure development.
