Obhizatrik Foundation is a voluntary organization working since 2010 in thirty-two districts with four thousand young volunteers. The foundation strives to eradicate poverty and hunger from society. With support from some private organizations and individual assistance, it has provided livelihood support to five hundred and sixty families living in different parts of the country. It also has elementary schools for children from disadvantaged families and a free health service program. During the COVID-19 lockdown, its volunteers supported low-income people with supplies and safety equipment. The organization is set to work extensively on nutrition and health awareness at the community level in the near future. Its four projects have benefited around one crore of people all over the nation. Obhizatrik school provides free education in three branches to six hundred underprivileged children. Shokhkhom offers livelihood projects to more than twelve hundred families in seven districts. Its boat ambulance project provides emergency service to the community of Patuakhali, saving fifteen hundred lives. The Food Hunger project serves ninety thousand meals per month in thirty points of Dhaka city. Besides, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization distributed free groceries to sixty-five thousand families and vegetables to two lakh individuals along with health and safety equipment. They collect funds and donations from thirty partner organizations accompanying the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. The founder Ahmed Imtiaz Jami envisions creating Shokhkhom Villages in ten districts by 2030, where people would be able to empower themselves through education and life skills ultimately resulting in strong and equal communities.
