World Youth Army

“World Youth Army” is a voluntary youth led organization. It was formed during the Covid-19 pandemic by raising emergency funds for such an emergency crisis. It reached doorstep to doorstep with emergency relief in the lockdown areas, including food and medicine. It also provided monetary support to the people who lost jobs due to pandemic induced economic setbacks. World Youth Army’s long-term vision is to make a hunger free Bangladesh and a peaceful society driven by youths ready to serve the people in times of emergency. The founders connected via social media and sought emergency funds to help the distressed. It had a plan and successfully raised funds to tackle the food shortage in her hometown, Noakhali. In the beginning, public funds and NGO support came for this organization. Over time, the organization grew from twenty-five active volunteers to more than one hundred and twenty executives and volunteers. With the aim of fighting hunger and poverty, the organization now works with The Department of Agricultural Marketing under the Ministry of Agriculture. Besides, it collaborates with many other partner organizations. Its ‘Rapid Response Relief’ campaign was active in the outskirts of Dhaka, and it was focused on the distribution of emergency relief during the pandemic. To support the families who could not afford basic necessities like food and baby food, the organization has initiated projects like ‘Emergency Monetary Help’ and ‘Baby Care’. Besides, it also distributed gifts at religious festivals. So far, World Youth Army has aided more than twenty-five hundred families in twenty-two districts. To build strong empowerment among its beneficiaries, it has partnered with The Department of Agricultural Marketing and The Department of Agricultural Expansion to train around one hundred and fifty beneficiaries under three training projects.
